A cappuccino the way it should be: a fresh double-shot base, warm milk and a deep cap of foam on top. It is the drink to sit with for ten minutes in the village before the day starts, and the one that warms you up fastest after a cold morning at the lake.
Where a latte leans on milk, a cappuccino leans on foam. We steam the milk to a dense, airy texture, pour it over a freshly pulled shot, and finish with a dusting of chocolate if you would like one. The result is lighter in the cup than a latte but stronger in flavour.
Cappuccino is a favourite through the Lake Louise winter, when guests come in off the Lake Louise Ski Resort shuttle looking for something hot before the next run. We are open seven days a week on Village Road, so you can find one at 7:00 AM in ski season just as easily as in the middle of a August hiking day.
Take a cappuccino if you want the coffee forward and the cup lighter; take a latte if you want it milkier and smoother. Both start from the same freshly pulled shot, so it comes down to how much foam you like on top.
On cold days we serve a lot of cappuccinos to skiers, hikers and staff coming in off the hill. Ask for it extra hot and we will steam the milk further so it holds its heat on the walk back to your hotel or the bus stop.
